Wall Decal Requirements
Is Your Wall Ready for Our Decal?
Here's what you need to know about paint types and surfaces that aren't quite compatible with our decals.
Not Suitable Wall Types
-
Stain Resistant Paint
These paints are formulated to prevent anything from bonding to them. They are fantastic for resisting dirt and stains, but not so great for decals. Our decals won't stick without some wall prep.
-
Air-Cleaning Paints
Designed to keep your air clean, but they don't get along with our decals.
-
Highly Textured Walls & Wallpaper
The bumpy surface makes it tough for decals to adhere properly. We also advise against applying on wallpapered walls as it may damage the wallpaper.
-
Old, Cracked, Or Degraded Paint
Decals on deteriorating surfaces can worsen the condition. The pressure from the decal might peel the paint, causing it to fall off.

Things to Keep in Mind
-
Damages
Every wall has a story, and damages can happen when applying or removing decals. Flat white and matte finished walls are more prone to any wall usage.
-
Newly Painted Walls
Patience is key! Wait at least 30 days after painting before applying our decal.
-
Damage Control
While wall damages can occur, MODI MODU won't cover any damages caused by decal removal.
